ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE
RESOLUTION
Mediation and conflict resolution are among the most effective methods of
permanently resolving disputes. The Center for Community Justice has developed
several conflict resolution programs to give families, members of the business
community, and youth a forum to work through disputed issues, and resolve
problems peacefully.
Community Mediation: Gives businesses, organizations, and
individuals a voluntary and confidential conflict resolution forum.
Divorce and Separation Mediation: Allows couples ending their
marriages the opportunity to resolve parenting, custody and divorce issues with
the guidance of a trained mediator.
Family Mediation: A child-centered forum for the creation of
parenting plans to help resolve visitation, custody, child support disputes, as
well as parent/teen conflicts.
Permanency Mediation: A collaborative approach to addressing
the needs of children in the child welfare system.
Peer Mediation: Provides students and
faculty at Schenectady City schools with training in mediation and communication
skills in order to help them resolve problems confidentially and peacefully.
